• *1 : This part must be an homage to Pizzicato Five album "女性上位時代(This Year's Girl)". Be aware of the sound of camera shutters, common between these two. The atmosphere of the conversation is more similar to "東京は夜の七時 In Tokyo 7:00 p.m." . By the way, videos by Pizzicato Five said to be strongly influenced by Jean-Luc Goddard, but 3776's music videos by Ishida do not seems to be under the influence. Ishida is saying this year will be the Promotion Video year for 3776, and personally I am expecting his style will be shifting toward Pizzicato Five... or not. This interview part is continued to the last secont of track 11 答え合わせ Checking the Answer.
• *2 : Usually, the Japanese particle "ga" or "wa" is needed (Fujisan ga daisuki desu) but here she omits it. That sounds very colloquial, here a bit childlike
• *3 : Of course, this is Akira Ishida, but here he is supposed to be some press person.
• *4 : What is interesting is the interviewer, who is an adult, is also omitting a particle (it should be "Fujisan NI nobottan desuka") maybe influenced by her. He reads this line sort of unnaturally, and that's so funny for me.
• *5 : Here again, the particle "ga" is omitted "Dakara Kono kyoku GA dekitan desuyo" is a formal sentence
• *6 : Here at last he uses a particle between a subject and a predicate. "Title WA Nante Iun desu ka?"and for the first time in this conversation. What's funny here is Ishida raise and elongate the last sound and sounds again like an amateur actor. Nante Iun desukaa↑?

• *23 : Here we catch the word "Chosakuken" (Copyright) before we hera the sound "ri" of "kenri". Japanese people do not say "Chosakukenri".
• *24 : Walking on two feet. She is using a bit scientific term here, "nisoku hokou".
• *25 : When 3776 refers to Micheal, it's safe to assume it's about Micheal Jackson. In this footage, Chiyono "imitates" Micheal Jackson's dance. Micheal was the favorite artist of Rena Mochizuki, who had been the "center" of 3776 #Season1, and Ishida, who make the best of the members' tastes for lyrics and composition, featured Micheal in Moe Moe Kataomoi. In this song, Rena sang "My man has gone to Heaven. Maybe the highest peak in Japan will bring me closer to him." So, he cannot "imitate" this common point of living in the same period, alive. I haven't heard Chiyono particularly likes Micheal Jackson, but the reason why Michael comes back in 3776 lyrics is the influence of Star System of manga, which the author of Doraemon(Fujiko Fujio, Ishida is known to be a big fan of him. cf. Akira with Suneo, one of the main character of Doraemon) often used and their master Tezuka Osamu started to use.
• *26 : 3776 has been always changing the counting system between "1234567" and "123456", the former "Hi Fu Mi Yo Itsu Mu Na", the latter "Ichi Ni San Shi Go Roku", the former being older way to count
• *27 : In a live performance, Chiyono urge audience to dance with her, saying "Ladies and gentlemen, follow my lead."「みなさん私の真似してください、行きますよ]

• *33 : The Japanese “Lady ni natta watashi NIWA Kimiga ita”, seem to imply Chiyono, who was only 13 years old then, has grown up to be a lady and now has a boyfriend “you”, so I could translate “I had become a grown lady, and I had you”
• *34 : Hanashi shiteta, without the particle “を wo” between them, sounds still childish, although she is talking about when she has become a lady.
• *35 : the Japanese lyric does not explicitly say “only two of us”, but the following stanzas strongly implies that there are only two of them there.
• *36 : “these things” is not explicitly written in the original Japanese
• *37 : “things is not explicitly written in the original Japanese. Literally translating, “In the future, are ● gone? ■ was painful, now, this world I am living in...” As I say again and again, Japanese can omit Subject and Object, so it is not very clear what is asked to be gone in the future, and what or who was painful about what. I tried my best guess. This omission is highly probably for rhyming, using “No” at the end of the line. Because of it, the last line, in particular, is unfinished and unnatural as a sentence or a phrase, making it difficult to complete it by guessing.
• *38 : He is here using exclamation mark at the beginning of the line like Spanish (not upside down, though), but this is extremely unusual for Japanese sentence. Also he is using “・” between words, which is also rare (less rare than ! In the beginning) or old fashioned... in 80’s or 90’s there might be fashion to use ・ a lot
• *39 : Or some of them.
• *40 : It is uncertain why suddenly she is talking about cod roe (Tarako). Aji means flavor, and they don't call Tarako "aji" for a rice ball or an Onigiri, because cod roe itself is contained in a rice ball. When I google "Tarako Aji", only seven results return as of August 5, 2020, all of them are instant cup noodles. I suspect Chiyono likes taste of cod roe(3776 songs have usually been based on personal interviews to the girls in 3776 unit by Ishida, as I read or heard somewhere.). Maybe I should translate this as "Is the taste of cod roe still left?". Anyway, "Tarako aji" is an unusual word, and I guess this word is used to rhyme with "Chiyono Oshi", which seems to be a more common word
• *41 : Oshi is a sort of jargon among Anime and Idol Otaku(fans), meaning a fan (in the form of "xxx-oshi" like this lyric) or favorite member (like Oshi-men, which can be just oshi for short) in an idol group. 3776 was still an idol group when this mini album was released, so there was Maririn-oshi or fans whose Oshi is Maririn, for example.(Maririn was another member then in 3776 Season#2) Recently 3776 has been one girl idol unit, and I haven't heard this word said by fans or by Chiyono herself recently.
• *42 : Obviously, the Japanese lyric here is rhyming with "ku" or "fuku".
• *43 : It's quite interesting to notice Akira Ishida seldom (or never?) uses "Nippon" for calling Japan. 日本 has two ways to read aloud, Nihon and Nippon, the latter sounds to be sort of militaristic, while Akira Ishida is known to be sort of leftist/liberalist/anarchist?
• *44 : This stanza is quoted from the song “A∩B“. There are other stanzas quoted from the sont below.
• *45 : I’m using parentheses here as a “different voice” as you can here there are two chiyono’s whispering voices from left and right, and I put the right one in the parenthesis here. So, the usage of parenthesis is not like additional explanation to the lyrics as I always have used parenthesis in this project.
• *46 : “Onpu” is musical notes, a symbol denoting a musical sound
• *47 : By the way, Chiyono has a great capacity to sing those difficult rhythm pattern of Ishida’s music, but when she recorded this, she had difficulty to sing this part with a simple square rhythm, which I heard Ishida or Chiyono said sometime somewhere.
• *48 : Konna toko kar”a” and Sukim”a” seems to be intended to rhyme.
• *49 : Rhyme between “Shidai” and “Shinjitai”.
• *50 : Rhyme between “gawa” and “kara”
• *51 : Here, “letters” means Kanji 漢字 Chinese characters which is used in Japanese language. A Kanji is not a phonetic symbol but an ideogram, so all Japanese students and students of Japanese language also need to learn how to read those letters.
• *52 : The original Japanese lyrics here are, literally translated, “I will give the ruby for each letters you cannot read”. Ruby is a Hiragana or Katakana on top of Kanji for showing how to read it. The size of those Hiragana/Katakana letters are small, so it is called “ruby”.
• *53 : Here, the persons on the right and left are confusing. The left one says “The letters I cannot read”, but who gives rubies is also the left one. So we need to interpret it there are two people here, the person who read the letter and cannot read difficult Chinese letters and the other person who write the letter and give rubies for difficult Chinese letters. The right person says “Now I can read finally”, so obviously the right person is the reader of the letter, but confusing thing is the left person do not say “the letters I cannot read” instead of “You”. Or, rather, perhaps, there are not two people but only one person, me who is writing the letter in the future after the catastrophe and me who is reading the letter now before the eruption? The love letter from me in the future to me in the Not written part (the “Love letter” part) present?
• *54 : This line is also quoted from the song “A∩B“
• *55 : Your existence alone is enough to get the message through to me.

• *57 : This is the limit of Japanese English translation, but actually I want to write “This is a love letter from you”, but the “This is” part and the “From you” part is the whisper from the right side in a single (not separated) whisper, ”Kore wa Kimi kara no”. Then, the first part, “I still want to love you”, is difficult to interpret, whether this “I” is really I as the story teller or, this “I” is actually the writer of the love letter = “you”, as in direct speech. I guess the latter is the case.
• *58 : This is implying the gushing water from springs at the foot of Mt Fuji
• *59 : Implying water as I mentioned just before
• *60 : This part is extremely obscure and difficult to listen/catch in the official recording. I checked the other three recordings(listed below) both on YouTube and OTOTOY, finding that the live recording with amiinA is easiest to catch. They sound to say Sound Kakae. I am not confident because of the rarity of this collocation of the (imported) noun “sound” and the verb “kakae(ru)=hold, cuddle” especially when the object of the verb is not tangible(Also, the combination of this and the verb "Wakideta"=gush out is not common). But when seeing the context, one line above we are talking about “Wind”=touch and “Smell”=smell, in this line “throat”=taste, one line below “Look up”=see, so it is quite natural that “Sound”=listening is related in this part. • *61 : Implying Mt Fuji.
• *62 : Maybe I should translate “After you’ve disappeared”. This is alluding after the great eruption of Mt Fuji.
• *63 : The 3776’s obsessive motif. When Mt Fuji is there, we do not appreciate it. In the same way, the idol unit 3776 is always changing (season#1, #2, #3, #3Neo, #4...) and Chiyono or Ishida can quit the unit anytime, nothing should be taken for granted.
• *64 : You can hear some sound of drums played behind her voice, and this is probably because she was in a local studio which has only thin walls and we can hear some band was practicing in the next room.
